KINGSTON — Clean Water Action has endorsed Kathleen LaNatra (D-Plymouth) for re-election as state representative in the 12th Plymouth District.
“Kathy LaNatra is a leader on the issue of costal health,” said Cynthia Mendes, State Director for Clean Water Action Massachusetts. “I am thrilled to support Representative LaNatra for re-election because she is ready to fight for clean water, clear air, healthy homes.”
LaNatra has made clean water, coastal resilience, responsible water management, and public health central priorities as a legislator. “Since taking office, a top priority of mine has been to help solve a local water issue involving numerous lakes and ponds in my area, all of which are environmentally suffering,” said LaNatra. “It is an honor to have the endorsement of Clean Water Action as I continue these efforts.” She has focused on ensuring that Silver Lake, Monponsett Pond, and surrounding ponds and streams are managed responsibly so communities have access to clean water and vibrant lake ecosystems.
As a coastal legislator and House Chair of the Coastal Caucus, LaNatra has also emphasized climate resilience along Massachusetts’ coastlines. She has committed to continuing work that helps communities prepare for rising seas and future climate-driven challenges.
LaNatra’s additional environmental and public health priorities include:
• Safe disposal of wastewater from the decommissioned Pilgrim Nuclear Plant
• Strengthening coastal resilience in communities facing rising seas.
• Lowering energy costs through a diversified energy portfolio.
• Giving local residents a meaningful voice in major energy decisions.
